Lee, Asahel

Asahel F. “Ace” Lee, 74, of Avon beloved husband of Catherine Leone Lee, passed away peacefully on July 15 at Avon Health Center. Ace was born Aug. 26, 1936 in West Hartford, son of the late Nathan and Pearl (Dean) Lee. Ace proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan prior to his honorable discharge. He received a degree in electronics at DeVry Tech. Prior to retiring from the West Hartford Fire Department where he served for over twenty years, retiring in 1995 with the rank of Lieutenant, he owned and operated Ace TV Repair. He was also a sales agent at Prudential CT Realty. Ace was an avid golfer, member of the Farmington Men’s Club and Lenolese Society of Farmington. He enjoyed spending many summers at the family beach house in Westerly, RI swimming and taking long walks along the beach at sunset. Ace leaves this world having touched many people with his kindness and will be greatly missed. In addition to his devoted wife of 51 years, he is survived by his loving children Scott of Rock Hill, SC and Kristen of Boston, MA. He also leaves his sisters Beverly Dutko of Hartford, Glenna Niro of Newington, and his brothers Fred Lee of Springfield VT, Nathan Lee of Kalispell, MT and several nieces. The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and entire staff at Avon Health Center for their compassion and excellent care. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home 111 Main St. Unionville on Wednesday (July 20) from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday (July 21) at10:30am in The Ahern Funeral Home followed by burial at the Greenwood Cemetery, Avon with full USMC honors and West Hartford Fire Department Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital, Burn Center, 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104-2396, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
