Shackelford, Dorothy

Dorothy Mae Shackelford, 77, of North Canton, widow of Roy B. Shackelford, former Deacon at St. Patrick Church, Collinsville, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8th at her home. Born in Chicago, IL, November 20th, 1934, daughter of the late Raymond and Esther (Pitts) Rice. Prior to retiring in 2000, Dorothy was the Executive Administrative Assistant at the Canton Town Hall for many years. She was a longtime parishioner at the Church of St. Patrick in Collinsville. Dorothy is survived by her son Roy B. Shackelford and his wife Julie of Granby, her daughter Mary M. Shackelford-Geiger and her husband Donald of Westminster, MD, her daughter Karen M. Porter and her husband Stephen of Farmington, three beloved grandchildren, Collin, Nicholas and Jamie Porter and her favorite feline friend, her cat Missy. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Sunday (June 10) from 4:00-6:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Monday (June 11) at 9:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, Collinsville at 10:00am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Collinsville.
