Schroeder, Audrey Eberhardy

Audrey Eberhardy Schroeder, age, 88, of Fayetteville, NC, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on July 9, 1927 to the late Mathias and Marie (Koller) Eberhardy, Audrey graduated from North High School in 1945. She married Julian Edward Schroeder on September 10, 1949, and worked as a bookkeeper to help support Julian until he earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin in January 1951. Married for 63 years, Audrey and Julian raised four children and lived in Menasha, Neenah and Marinette, Wisconsin; Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Louisville, Kentucky; Weston, Connecticut; Littleton, North Carolina; and Farmington and Avon, Connecticut. Following Julian’s death in April 2013, Audrey moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she lived with, and was wonderfully cared for by, her daughter Ellen, son-in-law Chet, and their family.

Throughout her life, Audrey was active in local Garden Clubs and Women’s Clubs. She was a long-time Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic Church, and a hospital volunteer for over 20 years at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut and Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Audrey is survived by daughter Ellen Schroeder and her husband Chet Dilday of Fayetteville, North Carolina, son Roy Schroeder and his wife Deborah of Louisville, Kentucky, daughter Joan (Schroeder) Selvage of Canton, Connecticut, daughter Claire Schroeder of Simsbury, Connecticut, four grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, sister Carol (Eberhardy) Trimberger, sister-in-law Theresa Jane Eberhardy, brother Roger Eberhardy and 12 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by niece Julie Trimberger, sister-in-law Laverne (Schroeder) Trgovec, brother-in-law George Trgovec, brother Vernon Eberhardy, brother-in-law Leon Trimberger, nephew Steve Trgovec and loving husband Julian Schroeder.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Saturday, December 5th from 8:00 – 9:30 am. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will begin at 9:30 am, followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1330 W. Peachtree Street.; Suite 100 Atlanta, GA 30309 (www.arthritis.org).
