Saffery, Susan (Colmer)

Susan (Colmer) Saffery of Glastonbury and Clinton, died Sunday (March 19, 2017) at home after a short illness. Born in Hartford, September 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Richard and Susan (Grant) Colmer. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She worked as an Executive Assistant to Alfred E. Fuller of the Fuller Brush Company and Joseph Mott of Mott Shop Rite’s and most recently was employed as a Collection Manager for Priority One Security of Greenville, South Carolina a position that brought much joy to her later years. She enjoyed the people she worked with and was amazing with the customer’s showing compassion while exceeding the expectations of the company.
Susan is survived by her children; Richard of Hartford; Shari Kopcza-Phillips and her husband Matthew of Wethersfield, her grandchildren Susan Pulawski of West Hartford, Amber Kopcza of Bridgehampton, LI, Kevin Kopcza of Mystic, Olivia Merrill Saffery of Manchester, Matthew Kopcza of Dartmouth, MA, her great-grandson Peyton Pulawski of West Hartford and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved grandmother Jean Lamb Grant of Coventry; her brother Kenneth Colmer of Coventry; her twin brother William Colmer of North Ft Meyers, Fla and her sister Patricia C. Fisher of North Fort Meyers, Fla.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, March 27, 2017 at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. There will be no calling hours. Susan’s final resting place will be in Ireland at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions the family request that on Monday the 27th you consider performing a Random Act of Kindness in Susan’s memory.
