Riccio, Leonard

Leonard Riccio, 82, of Farmington beloved husband for 45 years of Carol (Vosney) Riccio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Born November 12, 1934 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Leo and Madeline (Donati) Riccio. Leonard was a United States Army veteran. Leonard was very proud of the house that he built in Farmington where he resided for over 40 years, as well as his ability to build or fix just about anything. He often talked about his love of flying airplanes, the New York Yankees and his family, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Leonard is survived by his two step-children, Douglas Sandberg and his wife Yvette and Susan Buonafede and her husband Dennis, six grandchildren, Jessica Qualls, Jillian Buonafede, Jeffrey Buonafede, Jonathan Buonafede, Elise Sandberg and Renee Sandberg, two sisters, Victoria Perreault and Kay Tolisano, a niece and several nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday (Apr. 18) at 10:00am in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville followed by military honors rendered at the church.
