Berg, Donald H.

Donald H. Berg passed away peacefully on December 11 after a brief illness. Born in New Britain, CT, to the late Carl and Bernadette (Coffey) Berg, he made his home and raised his family in Southington, CT. He was married to the love of his life, the late Joan (Marshall) Berg, for 48 wonderful years. Don leaves his daughter, Dawn, and her husband, Domenico Russo, of Torrington, CT, and son, Scott, and his wife, Lori, of Holland, MA. He also leaves his much loved grandchildren, Casey, Daniel, Drew and Matthew Berg. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and a graphic designer for 30 years for the Special Education Resource Center. Don’s final days were very special as he was surrounded by his loving family, photos of his life with his wife, his collection of self-created artwork, and the music of Ray Charles. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate medical staff teams at The Hospital of Central Connecticut – New Britain General Campus and Bel-Air Manor in Newington. At Don’s request, funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in Don’s memory can be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N.
