France, Beverly Jones (Gunther)

Beverly G. Jones France, 84, of Farmington died peacefully at the UCONN John Dempsey hospital on Wednesday, December 26. She was born in Hartford to the late J. Gordon and Georgia (Parsons) Gunther. Beverly graduated from Farmington High School in 1952.
While raising her children, Beverly enjoyed many summers at Block Island, fishing on weekends with her first husband, David, in hopes of catching a swordfish but settled for a marlin (still quite a catch!). Winters provided time for skiing and skating, where she could also enjoy time with a warm drink in the lodge. Gardening was a favorite activity throughout her years, as well as feeding and caring for stray animals. Beverly retired from Edmunds Gages where she was a receptionist. Beverly then spent time relaxing by her pool and continued gardening, enjoying the company of her husband, Arthur, as well as grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to visit children and grandchildren, as well as several cruises.
Beverly was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Unionville, CT. She later sang in the choir along with Arthur.
Beverly is survived by her five children, Gale Balavender and her husband Joe of Salem, Heather Rackliffe and her husband Gary of Farmington, Holly Fisher of Southampton NJ, Matthew Jones and his wife Donna of Bristol, and Mark Jones of Farmington; her brother Guy Gunther and his wife Diane of Plainville CT/Boynton Beach FL; seven grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Rackliffe, Matthew and Glenn Jones, Jonathan Fisher and his wife Alisha, and Zachary Fisher and his wife Jaclyn, Aubrey Reese and her husband Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Kylie and Logan Jones, Leo Fisher. There are many nieces and nephews, as well as multiple step-children, along with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three husbands, David Jones, Francis Connolly, and, most recently, Arthur France.
Special thanks to the staff at Touchpoints in Farmington who provided such compassionate care for Beverly in recent months.
