Conrod, Enid

Enid P. Conrod, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11 at the home of her daughter, Laurie Conrod in Farmington, CT. Enid was born on April 27, 1933 in Poughkeepsie, New York, a daughter of the late Ethel (Haines) and Henry Petersen, and lived in Stamford, CT for 43 years. Enid devoted her life to the love and care of her family, who will all greatly miss her gentle and loving spirit, strength and grace. She was an insatiable reader and a lifetime student and collector of antiques as well as a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Calvin D. Conrod; three daughters, Karen Bradshaw of West Hartford; Laurie Conrod of Farmington; Sarah DeFilippis and her son-in-law Anthony DeFilippis of West Hartford; five grandchildren, Kacie Badger of St. Albans, VT; Brian and Kate DiMartino of Farmington; and Madeline and Anna DeFilippis of West Hartford; three great grandchildren, as well as two nieces, Chris Wilson of Woodbridge, VA and Connie Messemer of Fairfax, VA. She is predeceased by her sister, Winifred P. Messemer of VA. Friends and family may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT on Wednesday, June 16 from 5-8 p.m, or at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, Hartford on Thursday, June 17 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 11 a.m. in Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT. Burial will take place on Saturday, June 19 in Peru, Vermont.
