Haley, Edward “Tony”

Edward “Tony” Haley of Plainville, son of the late Rev. Pruden Haley Jr. and Violet Bivens of Pennsylvania was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on July 22, 1958. Tony sadly died on Saturday, May 16th. He was 61 years old.
Tony was a long-time resident of Bristol and had countless friendships in his lifetime. He attended Bristol Eastern High School where he played football and wrestled. He graduated from BEHS, class of ’78. Tony was a dedicated Martial Artist. He started practicing Kenpo Karate when he was 25 years old at Fred Villari’s karate school on Farmington Avenue. He went on to perfect his craft and accumulated five black belts. Teaching became important to him. He eventually opened his own school on Broad Street in Bristol, where he taught all ages. His two sons now follow in his footsteps to carry on his art and passion.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Jessica L. Haley, paternal grandmother; Virginia Stansbury, Pruden Haley III, Linwood Haley, Virginia Haley Reed, Jesse Haley, Jesse James Bivens, and Maria DeJesus.
Tony is lovingly survived by his daughters; Amber Collins, Amanda Haley, Veronica Haley, and Sophia Haley-DeJesus, sons; Gabriel Haley and Jarek Haley, a son-in-law Antoine Collins, grandchildren; Samantha, Alexis, and Asia Collins, Kyra Haley-Freeman, Ace Shaw, Annabelle Leclair, Zavier and Raiza Youbert-Haley, and Darriana Boibeaux-Haley, mother; Violet Bivens, sisters; Violet Haley, Sandra Bates, and Francis Watkins, brothers; Eugene Bivens, Kim, Stanley, and Marvin Haley, two former wives; Lisa Haley and Jamie Haley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
