Paulsen, Grace

Grace [nee Krusche] Paulsen, of Unionville, passed away Monday, (May 24, 2010) at the age of 84. She was born February 3, 1926, in North Bergen, New Jersey, to the late Edward and Anna (Hilpmann) Krusche. She lived most of her adult life in Unionville. In 1948, she married Svend Joseph Paulsen of Hartford, CT. They were devoted to each other until his death in January of 1995. Grace was a loving and devoted mother to her four children and worked in a variety of jobs in the Greater Hartford area, principally at State Tile Company. She most enjoyed spending time with her family – her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Grace is survived by three of her children, Pam Fleming and her husband Ron Fleming of Avon, CT, Bonny Morlock and her husband Bill of San Diego, CA and Jeff Paulsen and is wife Candy of Burlington, CT; she was predeceased by her daughter Dale Dufresne of Burlington, CT (whose husband Ron Dufresne now lives in Springfield, VT with his wife Becky). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ross Dufresne and his wife Erin of Canton, CT, Erin Giguiere and her husband Ryan of Canton, CT, Nathan Fleming and his wife Bibrama of Beverly, MA, Colin Fleming of Arlington, MA, Jeffrey Paulsen of Burlington, CT, Cosmo Paulsen of Murrietta, CA and Ryba Paulsen of Lake Elsinore, CA. Grace also leaves her loving great-grandchildren: Tyler and Madison Dufresne, Michelle Paulsen, Jason Paulsen, Caleb Paulsen, Hayden Paulsen, and Mira Fleming. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Saturday June 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM there will be a funeral service at Avon United Methodist Church on West Avon Road, Avon, CT with Pastor Florence Eddins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244 or Connecticut Chapter of the National MS Society, 659 Tower Avenue, Hartford, CT 06112.
