Ritchie, Marguerite

Marguerite Catherine Ritchie, formerly of Bristol, 88, was called to the Lord on May 27th 2010. Born in Halifax Nova Scotia November 20, 1921 to Hugh John Scott and Mary Jane Power, she came to the Bristol area in July of 1924, where she lived the rest of her life. She was the oldest living daughter of a family of thirteen children. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack Scott, Patrick Scott, and Eugene Scott and her sisters Doris Scott, Rachel Scott, Mary Pons, Ruth Palmisano, Margaret Spinelli and Norma Gagner. She is survived by brothers, Michael Scott, and Joseph Scott and a sister Anna Bachman. She attended local schools and worked at Sage Allen and Davidson and Leventhal woman’s departments, the Card Gallery and Ingraham’s before her retirement several years ago. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville. She was predeceased by her husband Francis J. Ritchie on August 10th 1979 and is survived by her seven children, Joseph and his wife Palmer, of Florida, Robert of New Britain, Michael and his wife Jean, of Virginia, Gregory of New Jersey and daughters Marguerite Rompre and her husband Bert, of Farmington, Patricia DeSanto and her husband Jim, of Plymouth, Kathleen Egan and her husband Larry, of Plainville. She is also survived by 10 granddaughters, Kristen Saranteas, Lauren Ritchie, Megan Rompre, Jennifer Rompre, Leslie Burby, Shannon Yother, Noel Devine, Natalie Bianca, Christy Egan and Amanda Perzel, and five grandsons, John Ritchie, Matt DeSanto, Kevin Ritchie, Scott Ritchie, John Egan and two great grandsons Taylor Dennis, and Dylan Yother, and four great granddaughters Zoe Perzel, Mary Grace Burby, Anastasia Burby and Charlotte Perzel. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Monday (May 31) from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Tuesday (June 1) at 9:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville at 10:00am. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. In lieu of flowers please donate to Alex’s Lemonade Stand 333 East Lancaster Avenue, # 414, Wynnewood, PA 19096 or to a charity of choice.
