Boyle, Eleanor

Eleanor C. Boyle, 91, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on Tuesday, August 14th. Born in Southbridge, MA, December 3rd, 1920, daughter of the late George M. and Helen (Reid) Boyle. Prior to retiring in 1985, Eleanor was a Purchasing Agent at Travelers Insurance Company for 47 years. She was a communicant at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, a member of the Women’s Guild at the Church and a former member of the Legion of St. Mary at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Hartford. She is survived by her niece Mary Gardner and her husband Michael of Vernon, her grandniece Jennifer Ambrose and her husband James of Milford, her grandnephew Kevin Gardner and Tanya Welles of Manchester, her great grandniece Janae Ambrose, her great grandnephew Justin Gardner, her dear cousin Dorothy Reid of Carmel, CA, and her niece Patricia Boyle and her children Shane and Lisa Valle of Old Lyme. She was predeceased by her brother Allard J. Boyle, her sister-in-law Gertrude B. Boyle, her nephew Michael J. Boyle and her longtime dear friend Margaret Dowling. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., on Saturday (Aug. 18) from 9:00-10:00am. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be at 10:00am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, West Hartford at 10:30am. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery in South Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
