Marie Frey Pliskowski, died on December 29, 2013. Born on September 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late J. Henry and Julia (Wanatowicz) Frey of Farmington. She is survived by her daughter Ellen M. Pliskowski and her sister Betty Frey Walczyk, both of Farmington, as well several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Katherine F. Dewey of Avon and Marjorie F. Ullrich of San Antonio, TX, and her brothers Henry R. Frey of New Hartford and Edwin J. Frey of Ft. Pierce, FL. Marie graduated from Farmington High School in 1938 and worked at New Britain Machine Co. during WWII. She married Alfred E. Pliskowski of Gardner, MA in 1944 and when the war ended, they made their home in Farmington. Widowed in 1959, Marie joined the former Connecticut Bank and Trust Company where she was employed until her retirement in 1979. Marie was a lifelong member of Saint Patrick Church in Farmington and an active member of the Ladies Guild. On Saturday, January 4, 2014 a brief service will be held in The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville at 11:30am followed at 12:30pm by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick Church, 110 Main St., Farmington. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 151 Farmington Ave., Plainville. Donations in Marie’s memory may be made to the parish development fund of Saint Patrick Church, 110 Main St., P.O. Box 523, Farmington, CT 06032-0523.
