Lowry, Kathryn Santoro

Kathryn Santoro Lowry, of Avon, passed on to eternal rest on Thursday, December 24, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Blasco) Santoro of Harwinton. She is survived by her brother, Daniel Santoro and his wife, Kathleen Gibbons and their children, Kathryn’s Godchild, Jacqueline, and her niece, Rachel. She also leaves behind her cousins, Judy Perrin from New York, and Vincent Perrotti from Florida, and many dear friends.

A faithful Catholic, Kathryn was most happy when serving the Lord. She was a Youth Minister and taught religious education classes, which included many Confirmation students. She was Confirmation Coordinator at the Church of St. Ann in Avon. At the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Unionville, she also prepared the youth to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, prayed for the sick, and offered her assistance to several outreach committees. Kathryn enjoyed a variety of other titles over her lifetime. Her works included being a realtor, a paralegal for numerous law firms, a writer for newspapers and Christian publications, a theater performer, and a dance teacher. She had fond memories of her students at “Kathryn & Company”, her dance school in Thomaston. To her students to whom she taught dance or religion, she leaves this message: “Keep smiling! Remember that life and love are eternal!”

I have known Kathy for about maybe 13 yrs. We spent a lot of time together when she came to the dentist office I worked in. We always had great conversations. I seen Kathy at her best an when she was not doing well. But she always had an up beat attitude no matter how things were going. I no longer work at that office but I will always remember Kathy. I am sorry she pasted but she will no longer be sick an fighting the fight she was battling, an knowing Kathy she is in a good place an happy to be there.

    My condolences to her family
