Judith Bokun, wife of the late Carl Bokun, passed away on Sunday, September 18th at her home in Farmington, after a battle with ovarian cancer fought with courage, dignity, strength and determination. Judy was born in Brockton, MA to John E. Edwards and Ethel Kelly Edwards. She was a 1961 graduate of Farmington High School and was employed by Cigna Corp for 27 years in various parts of the country. Judy is survived by her brother, Bruce Edwards and his former wife, Joyce and their children Paul of Burlington, CT and Stacey of Georgia, her brother, Keith Edwards and his wife Bridget of Hubert, NC, her sister, Claudia Looney and her husband William of Surry, ME, and her nephew, Jack Edwards and his wife Stefanie and their children Mia and Gabriella, her nephew John Jakobeit and his partner Becky Bobola of Bristol, CT and Mary Jane and Joseph Pisarski and their son Colin. Judy is predeceased by her parents John Edwards and Ethel Kelly Edwards, her stepmother Ruth Jakowenko, her brother John E Edwards Jr, his wife Beverley Edwards and her niece Susan Beers. Bruce Edwards and Mary Jane Pisarski have been helping Judy throughout this battle and Judy and her entire family are very thankful for their support. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Brewer and her caring staff at UConn. Judy enjoyed tending her flower gardens and loved the beach, UConn women’s basketball, the Red Sox, Patriots, Broncos and all animals. Her greatest love was her furry kids; so many over the years. Bailey was her last best furry buddy and you could not detach them from each other. Judy you were an inspiration to all of us. God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best.

Calling Hours

Family and friends may call at the Ahern Funeral Home 111 Main Street, Route 4, Unionville on Thursday (Sept 22) from 5-7pm, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 pm.
